New studio: Publish a release

The data or pages in the studio should be published before users can see them. This article explains how to do so.

We are gradually updating all Floqs to a new version in which the data types, data editors, integrations and releases are completely revamped. In case your Floq is still on the old version, refer to the old article about publishing releases.

Publish a release

After the structure of your event is defined and the data is added, a release has to be published in order for users to be able to download this data in their app. If you make changes to your data later on, you can publish a new release to disclose this data to your users.

Click Publish in the side menu to go to the overview of releases. If you haven't made a release yet, a placeholder is shown.

Click the purple Publish button to start a new release. While the release is running, a panel is shown at the bottom right where you can see the progress. The more data is updated, the longer a release will take.

When the release is successfully published, this is indicated in the Status column on the right.

Update app after publishing a release

The mobile app will check every 5 minutes if there are new releases available. These are then indicated with a red dot on the profile icon top right. The release can be installed by clicking the profile icon and then clicking the Update now button.

If you don't want to wait for the app to get the release, you can pull down in the news feed. This will trigger the app to check for new releases. You can then install the release as described above.

On the web app, you can simply refresh the page or press Update Now once the toaster appears in the top-right corner.
