Release notes 7.10

This article contains the release notes for the 7.10 release of the platform and CMS, released September 2021.

Version 7.10.2

Configurator

  • Fixed issue: A default banner set in the data structure no longer overwrites the banner set on a session. All banners added now appear as expected in the web app.

  • Fixed issue: In the analytics, the grey background no longer appears when you hover over items that you cannot click through on

Mobile

  • Gamification was released for the mobile app:

    • Points can be gained by performing actions, such as creating a note, entering a virtual session, or sending a chat message.

    • The actions are grouped in so-called achievements, for example Pollster (making a vote), Big spender (spending time on the app) or Planner (scheduling meetings)

    • As an event organizer, you can add rewards when your users complete a certain achievement, for example a video or a link.

    • A leaderboard shows the users with the most points.

Web

  • Lists filtered only on role are now supported.

  • The modal that is shown when creating a meeting has been updated.

  • You can now schedule a meeting with one of the representatives from the exhibitor booth. A button Add meeting is added top right for that.

  • Fixed issue: The layout of the daily programme has been improved:

    • The programme grid is shown below all sessions

    • All cards have the same height

    • Session cards are no longer overlapping

    • Switching between different layouts no longer causes display issues

    • Favouriting a session no longer makes the background of the block transparent

    • Classifier colors are also displayed in the vertical layout

    • In the list layout, the sessions are in the correct order

    • Fixed issue: Changing the timezone from the indication on the daily programme now works as expected.

  • Fixed issue: Filters with long names now appear correctly in the filter side panel.

  • Fixed issue: Sessions that don’t have any info on any tab are now opening as expected in the side panel. Before, they would open a blank page.

  • Fixed issue: The version shown in About this platform now reflects the right version of the web app.

  • Fixed issue: Links to social media now work as expected.

VEP

  • Fixed issue: Text input on the attendee dashboard no longer disappears when actions are performed in the moderator or speaker dashboard

  • Fixed issue: When creating a pre-recording, the slides and camera are now in sync. Before, the slides were faster than the speaker video.

  • Fixed issue: If a speaker has slides uploaded and shares a Chrome tab, the presentation now correctly returns to the slides in the attendee dashboard after ending screen sharing.

  • Fixed issue: When an on-demand video is created for a presentation based on a trimmed session recording, the video now loads correctly when accessing it through the presentation on the session side panel.

  • Fixed issue: Liking a question as an attendee now always works. Before, it was not working in some cases.

  • Fixed issue: If an Interactive tab is not restricted, it is now always visible. Before, it was sometimes only visible upon refreshing the page.

  • Fixed issue: Speaker chat is no longer shown in My Conversations, since it’s only relevant within the dashboard.

  • Fixed issue: Contact requests can no longer be accepted by the sender.

Configurator

User/person merge

  • The export of persons was updated:

    • The column eurekaID is no longer exported

    • The column email is now named linkedUser, the name that is used for the import.

  • The first name and last name are also exported.

Analytics

  • Various improvements and fixes to the event analytics:

    • A detail page for news messages was added, where you can see who viewed the message.

    • A detail page for pages was added, where you can see who viewed the page.

    • A detail page for search queries was added, where you can see who entered the query.

    • Fixed issue: It is no longer needed to click twice to open a detail page.

    • Fixed issue: The back button now works as expected. Before, it would sometimes take you to another page than the one you came from.

    • Fixed issue: rows that are not clickable no longer have a hover effect.

Data structures

  • You can now set in the data structures whether you want an institution to open as an exhibitor booth, or in the side panel.

  • In the configurator below Data structures, you can upload one banner to appear on the side panel or detail page of all sessions in the web and mobile app. If needed, you can overwrite it with a banner in the session itself.

Mobile

  • The navigation library was updated, improving the app's performance and styling.

  • The detail page has a new layout:

    • The buttons to save the item to your favorites and to create a note have moved.

    • The information is split in 4 tabs: Info (session info, linked persons), Schedule (presentations in the session), Interactive (Vote, Ask, Chat, Rate, Evaluate cards) and Resources (links to PDFs, websites, etc.. Tabs without content are hidden.

    • In this new side panel/detail page, you can restrict access to the content on tabs mentioned above to a certain group. Users that don’t have access, will not see the content, but a message instead.

Web

  • The daily schedule has a new layout:

    • Users can set the programme timetable in either vertical or horizontal layout. The times are displayed on the vertical axis, or the horizontal. They can also choose to display the programme as a list.

    • The tabs to select the day have been changed. The filter and search can be found next to it.

    • The filter panel now opens from the side instead of from the top. This leaves more space for the sessions to display.

    • On the horizontal layout, there are now 4 hours displayed. This means there is more space for the titles of the sessions.

    • Classifier colors added to sessions are displayed in the timetable.

    • An icon is displayed for sessions that have a virtual room.

  • You can see the version a web app is running on from About this platform below the profile dropdown. The version is useful for development to identify bugs.

  • Attendee list search searches also on job title and company besides name only.

  • Button styles are now consistent across the whole web app.

  • Fixed issue: The ordering name for a list of institutions is now working as expected. Before, institutions with an ordering name would appear below those without.

  • Fixed issue: The introduction text above a list is now visible on the web app.

  • Fixed issue: The transition between banners with a long duration is now shorter. Before, the animation was the same duration as the actual duration of display.

VEP

  • The moderator dashboards is improved and finetuned.

    • The way to select the active speaker and to mute a speaker have been changed. Icons appear when hovering over the person’s name. A red tag ‘Presenting’ is shown above the active speaker. Similarly, an active video can be selected. The video gets the tag ‘Active video’.

    • The microphone status and the person's name are shown in all frames.

    • All icons show a tooltip when hovered over.

    • A live tag is shown in the slides and speaker frame when the session is broadcasting.

    • The role of speaker or moderator has moved to above the name. The affiliation of the person is added below it.

    • The Q&A tab has been improved: there are now subtabs for visible and invisible questions. Questions can be moved from one to the other tab, and it’s immediately clear which ones are visible and which ones aren’t.

    • On the Attendees tab, the attendees are split in Online and Blocked. Blocked attendees move from the Online tab to the Blocked one, and can be unblocked from there. Please note that the switch in the presentation settings to show blocked users in the list is removed as it is no longer needed.

    • The modal for the session settings is updated. You can export the chat conversation from it.

  • The speaker dashboard is also improved and finetuned.

    • New placeholders are added to the slides frame when no slides are uploaded yet. The placeholders explain the three different views of the speaker dashboard: Present live, Pre-record and Audience view.

    • The way to change between these three views has also changed. When the room is closed, Present live and Pre-record are available from the switch bottom right. When the room is open, you can no longer pre-record but instead watch the Audience view.

    • The video player to view your pre-recording or uploaded video has been updated.

    • The chat conversation in a virtual room can be exported from the moderator dashboard

  • An internal chat for moderators and speakers was added. This way they can communicate without the attendees seeing their messages.

  • A banner can be added within a virtual room, for example to highlight the sponsor of the session. The banner is displayed right below the slides frame on the attendee dashboard. A link to another page in the web app or to a URL can be assigned to it.

  • Fixed issue: The popup Trying to join is no longer displayed for hosted sessions, except in cases where the connection or the device is very slow.

  • Fixed issue: Attendees that leave a hosted session, can now rejoin. Before, they would sometimes get a notification that they were already in the session.

  • Fixed issue: The timer for pre-recordings is now reflecting the actual time you are recording. Before, it was a bit slower than the actual time.

  • Fixed issue: When you mute your mic with your keyboard or headphones, a warning is shown on the mic control on the bottom toolbar on the speaker, moderator and host dashboards.

  • Fixed issue: Black blinks between slides in pre-recorded sessions no longer occur.
