Connect external bar codes to user profiles for lead scanning

This article explains how you can link an external, numerical badge bar code to an attendee profile in the app to allow scanning badges for lead tracking.

Scan badge bar codes

When an external, numerical badge bar code is linked to an attendee profile, scanning this bar code with the in-app QR code scanner will open the linked user profile.

This makes lead scanning for exhbitors a breeze: they can just open the in-app scanner and scan the badge to add the attendees to their leads dashboard, and they don't have to ask them to open the virtual business card in the app.

Please note that you will need to use the in-app scanner to scan the badge. The device camera will not be able to make the link.

How to link a bar code to an attendee profile

A bar code can be linked to an attendee profile in 3 ways: manually, with an Excel import or through a channel.

When linking manually, access the attendee list and open the attendee profile you want to link. Scroill down to the section Event-specific info. In the field Bar code, you can enter the numerical bar code.

When you want to add the bar code with an Excel import, just add a column barcode to the Excel sheet of attendees you're importing and add the codes in that field. When you have an attendee sync that has the bar code field in the API, we can map our bar code field to it. Get in touch with your Customer Success Manager for that.
